Mrs Jeffries on the ball

A woman falling from a balcony at a society ball might easily be taken to be an accident, but not when a knife has been plunged into her back. As a guest at the Hyde Park Literary Circle's Jubilee Ball, the bumbling Inspector Witherspoon of Scotland Yard finds the murder case landing squarely in his lap. His housekeeper, Mrs Jeffries, embarks on her own clandestine investigation to protect her employer's reputation and catch the killer.
