Denizen Hardwick lost both his parents at an early age. The only memory he has of his mother is of her holding him when he was little and smelling of strawberries. He lives at an orphanage with his best friend Simon until he turns 13, finds out that he actually has an aunt who whisks him away to visit her, that he has some sort of superpower, and that his destiny is to fight monsters. But does he want to take up this destiny or does he want to refuse it and have life return to normal? Can it return to normal or is he stuck in this new reality? Book 1 in the Knights of the Borrowed Dark trilogy. Well written, humorous adventure fantasy story.
