About this book
The study is an empirical attempt to assess the impact of technological change on a cross-section of the United States labor force. Three aspects of technological change are of particular concern in this study: 1) the economic impact of machine change on the work force in terms of income change, promotions, steadiness of employment and unemployment, 2) the relevance of machine change for job satisfaction and job content, and 3) the relation of machine change to education and training. The survey is based upon interviews with a sample of labor force participants.
