About this book
This survey was conducted by telephone with Texas citizens about their recreation participation over the past twelve months. The sample was geographically stratified. Respondents were selected by calling randomly generated telephone numbers. Quotas were assigned by sex, age group, and ethnic origin according to composition of each geographic stratum. Information was collected about rates of participation for 23 outdoor activities, state park use, and recreation activity preferences, as well as for sex, age, and ethnic origin of the respondents. The survey was administered in three versions, differing in the order of question presentation and the total number of questions. The survey was administered in Spanish as necessary. Data from all three versions is integrated into one file.
