The song of God

The Bhagavat Gita is also known as Devaki-putra Gitam. The Gita is a discouse given by Lord Krishna to Arguna. It contains 18 chapters and 700 slokas. The most important chapters are Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Jnana Yoga. The main essence of The Gita is as follows: "One should do his duty and works properly in this world, have love and devotion towards the Lord and use the knowledge properly for the welfare of humanity."
