Geometry and analysis1995

This volume consists of a collection of articles based on lectures delivered in an International Colloquium held at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Bombay in January 1992. Prof. M. S. Narasimhan and Prof. C. S. Seshadri turned sixty about that time and in view of the crucial role they played in the evolution of the School of Mathematics of the Tata Institute as one of the major centres of mathematical activity in the world, the occasion was used to felicitate them and to focus on questions close to their interests. Experts from all over the world spoke at the conference on different aspects of geometry and analysis.
