Ground breaking approaches to the design of contaminated and including public parks and commercial sites are outlined.Contributions range from innovative scientific and engineering research from industry and federal agencies to contemporary international and regional professional reclamation and redevelopment projects such as the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, the A.G Thyssen steelworks and blast furnace plant in Germany's Ruhr region to landfilling operations at Killingdon near London's Heathrow Airport (now Stockley Business Park).
