Seismic shift

Beginning with Ansel Adams and Edward Weston-and with the 1946 arrival in San Francisco of Minor White -'Seismic Shift' follows the history of lanscape photography in the 1950s and 1960s through the careers of Wynn Bullock, Brett Wston [Edward's son] and others. It then explores how the 1970s work of Baltz, Deal and Robert Adams creaqted a shock of recognition among Western photographers of a younger generation, a realization that they shared a vision very different from that of their predecessors.--Publisher.
