Gazes on the Environment
About this book
As green narratives proliferate – through political promises and
corporate campaigns – environmental degradation continues
unabated. This volume explores the tensions, paradoxes, and
ideological conflicts at the heart of contemporary environmental
thought and representation.
Originally written in Italian between 2016 and 2018, the essays
are organized around four key areas: the dogmatic tendencies in
ecological discourse; the challenges of energy transition and
climate politics; the cultural and ethical dimensions of resources,
animals, and ecological imaginaries; and the Italian context as a
lens on global contradictions.
An invitation to move beyond slogans, this book encourages
critical reflection on the narratives, ideologies, and power
structures that shape our relationship with the planet.
