Uses personal stories and primary source material to focus on the changes in the lives of American women of all ethnic and economic backgrounds and to discuss the variety and importance of their experiences. Discusses the role of women during World War II and in the postwar years of both expanding and contracting opportunities for them, as many sought their rightful place as full American citizens.
