The Blind (Hebrew: העיוורת) is a short story by Jacob Steinberg, first published in Yiddish in April 1912 in the newspaper Der Fraynd. The narrative follows Hannah, a blind woman who enters into an arranged marriage with Israel, culminating in a revelation that alters the reader's understanding of the story's meaning. Steinberg later translated the work into Hebrew, with its first Hebrew publication appearing in 1923. This story explores themes of perception and truth within the context of personal relationships.
