Irish Witchcraft and Demonology

Irish Witchcraft and Demonology, written by St. John D. Seymour in the early 20th century, is a historical analysis of witchcraft in Ireland. The book examines the presence of witchcraft in Ireland, particularly through notable cases like that of Dame Alice Kyteler, and argues against the notion that Ireland was largely free from such phenomena. Seymour compiles historical records and societal responses to witchcraft, highlighting the influences of Anglo-Norman and Protestant cultures on the witchcraft narrative and the reasons for Ireland's relative immunity to widespread witch persecution.
