Barbara W. Kane

Robert and Barbara Kane's first ocean voyage was on a passenger ship in 1969. They, with four of their children, sailed to a semester-long sabbatical leave at a New Zealand university. Six years later they took their first freighter voyage and they have been fascinated by this mode of cruising ever since. Now retired from Purdue University where Dr. Kane was a professor of mathematics and dean, they devote their time to their family, church, community, and to sailing the world's oceans in cargo ships.
